March 25
*“Abiding Presence, Abiding Peace”*
A Deep Study on John 14:15–30
*🌿 Opening Worship Hymn*
“When peace like a river attendeth my way…” (It Is Well With My Soul)
This hymn beautifully prepares our hearts for this passage—because the peace Jesus speaks of here is not situational, but spiritual, eternal, and unshakable.
*✨ 1. Love Proven Through Obedience (John 14:15, 21)*
> “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
Jesus redefines love—not as emotion, but obedience.
Love is not just words → it is walk
Love is not feelings → it is faithfulness
*🌿 2. The Promise of Another Comforter (John 14:16–17)*
> “He shall give you another Comforter… even the Spirit of truth.”
“Another Comforter” = One just like Jesus
The Holy Spirit is not temporary → He abides forever
*🔥 Key Truth:*
Old Testament → God was with people
New Covenant → God is in us
*❤️ 3. “I Will Not Leave You Comfortless” (John 14:18)*
> “I will not leave you orphans…”
Jesus knew the disciples would feel abandoned after the crucifixion.
But He gives a divine assurance:
You are not abandoned
You are not alone
You are adopted and indwelt
💡 Personal Reflection:
Once we were in darkness, strangers to God…
but now, because of Christ, we are children, not orphans.
*🌅 4. The Living Hope (John 14:19–20)*
> “Because I live, ye shall live also.”
This points to:
Resurrection power
Eternal life
Union with Christ
*🔑 The “Threefold Union”:*
I am in the Father
You are in Me
I am in you
💡 Mind-blowing Truth:
The same relationship Jesus has with the Father…
He invites us into that intimacy!
*✝️ 5. The Foundation: One Perfect Sacrifice (Hebrews 10:14, 17)*
> “By one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”
Old system → repeated sacrifices
Jesus → one sacrifice, forever sufficient
*🔥 Result:*
No more offering for sin
Full forgiveness
Access to God
*🏡 6. God Dwelling Within Us (John 14:23)*
> “We will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”
This is not religion… this is relationship.
God doesn’t just visit → He dwells
Not a temple made with hands → your heart becomes His home
*❓ 7. Why Not the World? (John 14:22)*
Judas (not Iscariot) asks:
> “Why manifest to us, and not to the world?”
Answer:
The world rejects Him
True revelation comes through love + obedience
💡 Connection (John 17:9):
Jesus prays specifically for His own—those who belong to Him.
*🕊️ 8. The Ministry of the Holy Spirit (John 14:25–26)*
> “He shall teach you all things… and bring all things to your remembrance.”
The Spirit:
Teaches truth
Reminds us of God’s Word
Guides us daily
💡 Practical Insight:
Have you noticed? Sometimes a verse comes exactly when needed—that’s the Holy Spirit reminding you.
*🕊️ 9. The Gift of True Peace (John 14:27)*
> “My peace I give unto you… not as the world giveth…”
🌍 World’s Peace:
Temporary
Circumstantial
Often false (“peace, peace” but no peace)
✝️ Christ’s Peace:
Deep
Eternal
Rooted in reconciliation with God
*🌄 10. The Blessed Hope (John 14:28)*
> “I go unto the Father…”
Jesus prepares a place
He intercedes for us
His going is actually gain for us
💡 Encouragement:
If we truly love Him, we rejoice—not mourn—because He is glorified.
*⚔️ 11. The Sinless Lamb & Defeated Enemy (John 14:30)*
> “The prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.”
Satan had no claim on Jesus
Jesus is sinless, spotless, perfect
Victory Assured:
2 Thessalonians 2:8 → Wicked destroyed by His coming
Revelation 20:10 → Satan cast into lake of fire
💡 Hope:
The enemy may appear strong… but his end is already decided.
*🌍 12. Our Calling: Preach the Gospel of Peace*
Because we have received peace:
We must share peace
We must reconcile others to God
*❤️ Final Reflection*
You are loved
You are indwelt
You are not alone
You have true peace
👉 The same Jesus who said “I will not leave you”
is still saying today:
“I am in you… abide in Me.”
