These cases are widely covered in news reports and legal analyses. 

Notable Cases and Recent Incidents..

🌺Andrea Yates (USA):

 This is one of the most well-known cases. In 2001, Andrea Yates drowned all five of her children. She was later found not guilty by reason of insanity due to severe postpartum psychosis and schizophrenia. Her case highlighted the critical need for mental health awareness and treatment in new mothers.

🌺Joanne Sharkey (UK): In a case that concluded in 2025, Joanne Sharkey received a suspended sentence for the death of her newborn son in 1998. The judge acknowledged her severe, undiagnosed postnatal depression and a "substantially impaired" ability to form rational judgment at the time of the incident, leading to a decision "calling for compassion".

🌺Ghaziabad (India) (2025): A mother was arrested for allegedly killing her newborn daughter just 45 minutes after birth by throwing her from a roof. The woman reportedly confessed she wanted a boy.

🌺Ahmedabad (India) (2025): A woman was arrested for murdering her three-month-old son by throwing him into an underground water tank. She told police she was emotionally and physically disturbed and the baby's constant crying distressed her.
