1. HOLY SPIRIT CONVICTS

John 16:7-8

John 16:7-8 says, "But I tell you the truth, it is better for you that I go away. 

For if I do not go, the Advocate ( Holy Spirit ) will not come to you. 

But if I go, I will send him to you.

 And when he comes, he will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and condemnation..

2. HOLY SPIRIT RESTRAINS EVIL 

GEN 6:3

Genesis 6:3 says, "My spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh; his days shall be a hundred and twenty years"

3. HOLY SPIRIT TEACHES 

John 14:26 says, "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you". 

John 16:15 says, "All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you".

4. HOLY SPIRIT TESTIFIES 

John 15:26, Rom 8:16

John 15:26 says, "When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my behalf". 

Explanation

In this verse, Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as the Advocate or the Spirit of truth. 

Jesus says that the Holy Spirit will testify about him. 

Jesus also says that his disciples should also testify because they have been with him from the beginning.
